# Summary

The system was in two parts, a pair of PC speakers and the Raspberry Pi 3 itself. The cases were made by plywood of 3mm thickness.

[PC speakers]

I designed the speaker cases with this tool, www.makercase.com . It allows you to set the size , draws holes and text. It will automatically generate a svg file for laser cutting.

For the electronics parts, I used two 2” speaker drivers and a speaker cable with amp, usb and 3.5mm plug built-in.

[Raspberry Pi Case]

Originally I designed the case for 3D printing. I found the design also suitable for laser cutting. The upper and lower panel was connected with nylon screws.

I used Raspberry Pi ‘s 3.5mm jack for audio output, usb port to power up the speakers. Of course, you may add a dac expansion board onto the Raspberry Pi to make the audio output even better.

[Software]

Volumio was installed for audio playback. It was a great app that can play local songs, from NAS and Spotify.

It was a simple project that anyone can do it.
