The Westland Lysander, built by Westland Aircraft, was a British military aircraft, which served mainly during the Second World War. It was designed as a multi-role aircraft, intended for close support, reconnaissance, and liaison. It was delivered in different versions, including some armies (machine guns and bombs) for support missions; a version was specially developed to ensure links (without armament, with a large capacity tank). The Lysander thus gained great fame through its use for the transport and recovery of spies and secret agents, in particular members of the Special Operations Executive or the French Resistance and other resistance movements in Eastern Europe. ‘West.
