The Su-17M4 is a Soviet front—line fighter-bomber of the third generation.
It has a variable sweep wing, the fighter’s power plant is one AL—21F-3 engine with afterburner thrust reaching 13,000 kgf. The aircraft is the last representative of the Su-17 family. As the most advanced modification, it is characterized by many improvements: the new PrNK-54 sighting complex, which allows the use of a PRVP with a television guidance head and all-angle R—60M URVS, as well as the ability to carry a record number of countermeasures – 268 pieces.
