The ZX Spectrum 128K, nicknamed “Toastrack” due to its prominent heat sink, was the last Sinclair-designed Spectrum model before the brand was acquired by Amstrad. Released in 1985, it featured a Zilog Z80A CPU, 128 KB of RAM, improved sound with the AY-3-8912 chip, and support for memory paging. Despite limited initial availability, it became a cult classic, bridging the gap between the original Spectrum line and the later Amstrad models. Its distinctive design and expanded capabilities made it a favorite among enthusiasts and developers alike.
