Porsche 911 (German Neunelfer) is a sports car produced by the German company Porsche AG in the body of a two-door coupe or convertible based on it, in different generations produced from 1964 to the present day.
The 911 index was not originally planned to timelessly designate different generations of one car, and was nothing more than one of many similar ones in the continuous three-digit internal numbering of all Porsche models assigned to a very specific 1964 model. But later, due to the market success of the first model, an exception was made by Porsche, and the index became a proper name, only digital. The index began to denote a two-door four-seater coupe car, designed in a concept rarely used in the global automotive industry – a six-cylinder boxer engine behind the rear axle.
