Formally HMS Minotaur, HMCS Ontario was a Minotaur class light cruiser constructed for the Royal Navy. However, shortly after being commissioned into the Royal Navy she would be transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy and renamed after the Canadian province of Ontario.
Ontario is armed with 3×3 6” guns, these guns were some of the most powerful light cruiser guns in the world. Capable of putting a similar tonnage of shells down range as the 8” guns of other navies. Ontario was also armed with 2×4 torpedo launchers.
However, Ontario wouldn’t ever get the oportunity to test her steel in battle, serving during peace time she would eventually be decomissioned in 1958.
