U.S.S. Missouri

U.S.S. Missouri 3d model

Designed at the same time as her sister, the Iowa 2040+, the Missouri FBX (Future Battleship Experimental) was a lower cost alternative of the same modernization program. The ship used the same base superstructure replacement but kept more of the original ship’s hull and internal structure. The FBX also made use of the experimental MJ-L-X railguns but placed them in a more conventional turret, allowing for lower manufacturing costs. Also, unlike the Iowa 2040+, the FBX retained the third gun on the rear deck, instead opting for a vertical hanger system like that used on the NATO class. All of the ship’s alternate weaponry is made up of existing systems to save cost, including: 8 Mk45 Mod 4 5in guns, 7 Phalanx CIWS, 2 Bofors L/70 57mm guns, 256 Mk41 VLS cells and 2 LOKI missile batteries.
