The officers’ sabers were private endowments and not from the state, so in the absence of regimental markings or inscriptions on the blade, it is impossible to be certain of their provenance.
They are simple sabers, inherited from the traditions of the first regiments of Hussars.
This is the second saber in the collection linked to the history of our Dutch friends after the Officer’s saber of the 33 rd Light Infantry, composed among others of Dutch soldiers who served heroically during the Russian campaign.
