This can be considered one of the early longswords which were used in war around 13-14th century. Swords like this one often have shorter length with a much wider blade with little profile tapers that make them powerful cutters. It is quite interesting that swords like this have rather low interest in today’s HEMA community, probably because they are shorter and heavier than the more well-known Federschwerts that came 200 years later.
