This new design should be a better fit than the looser version of the original, but still easier to fit to the power-supply than the original. It should be a good friction fit if printed with a semi-tuned printer. There are slits in the grips for the power supply to make it a little more forgiving than the previous version.
Cable management is also now much easier, with the cable wrapping around the powersupply holder, allowing this mount to just be 2 pieces instead of the previous 3. This also allows it to be shallower front-to-back, so it protrudes less from the wall.
Installation/Assembly: –
Feed the power supply connector through the hole in the bottom of the case, from the rear, and pull the cable through.
Insert the power supply from the bottom of the case, with the power pins facing towards you. Push in the power-supply until it is flush with the case. (If you push it a little too far then you can push it back a little from the other side)
Wrap the cable around the power supply, gently pushing it down into the slot (don’t use anything sharp) as shown in the photos.
With a short amount of cable remaining, connect the power connector to your Echo Dot, and insert the Echo Dot
Making sure that all cable is clear of the top few millimeters of the case, push the lid into place. It should be a tight friction fit (no more fragile clips)
Plug your Echo, complete with wall mount, into a wall-socket of your choice !

Note that the one downside with this design is that, even installed in the lower outlet, it will partially block the upper outlet in a standard US duplex wall outlet. (You can most likely still connect a 2-prong plug there, but I prefer to just plug it in the top socket for extra stability anyway). I suspect the same is likely true for other international socket types with double outlets, but am not sure since the spacing between outlets varies between the different styles in different countries.

P.S. .If anyone still has real issues with fit, due to a poorly calibrated printer, then I can try to make an adjustment to help, but I would ask that you try to tune your printer to be dimensionally accurate first. (It WILL be a good friction-fit if your printer is reasonably accurate)

Notes:
Recommend 3 perimeters, and 5 top/bottom layers if printing with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height. This makes the prints mostly solid with only a few small areas using infill.
I’ve printed this using HTPLA, but in theory any filament that isn’t super brittle should work just fine.
