Easy to print 65% Keyboard

A 3D printable keyboard case based on the WhiteFox layout (a keyboard I also designed) that can be used for a fun hand-wiring project.

The model is split in 5 main pieces so it’s very simple to print on any consumer grade 3d printer. It is compatible with any cherry-like switch and costar stabilizers.

The USB port is designed for the Teensy 3 controller board. It also requires 2.5mm threaded inserts.

The switch holes are exactly 14mm, meaning that due to the elephant foot effect it will end up being a little tight. You can either compensate in your slicer or –like I did– sand a little all holes. Also remember to sand along the ridge, it’s where your palm rests and it can be unpleasant if too sharp.

The (very messy) model is freely available on onshape. Go crazy!

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Prusa Mk2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

150µm

Infill:

25%

Notes:

it should print without supports, except for one half of the top frame.

I printed with 6 top/bottom layers and 5 side-walls. That gives a lot of stability, but you can go away with 4 top/bottom layers and 4 side/walls, I wouldn’t go lower than that.
