HALWOP Raspberry Pi Computer Shell

HALWOP Raspberry Pi Computer Shell

This is the HALWOP Raspberry Pi computer shell. My inspirations were the Apple Lisa computer and the IBM XT PC. I’ve broken the design up into a few different components for ease of printing and provided some assembly photos.

The display is fitted for the official Raspberry Pi 7″ touch display with a slot on the side to run the power and video cables out to the pi next door. As for the pi version, I’m using a Raspberry Pi 4. The monitor piece slots into the sidecar cover (piece covering the pi) to ensure a good hold during operation.

The power supply slot is fitted for an Anker 26800 power supply with a slot to run the power cable up to the Pi. I had an off/on switch from the Canakit pack I bought by pi with which makes it super easy to lift up the sidecar cover, the monitor cover, and then click on/off the power.

The keyboard slot is fitted for a Keychron K2 bluetooth keyboard. I’ve left the right and left side open for easy access to the power switches and for easy removal/installation. The fit is snug enough that I haven’t experienced any sliding or looseness.

When picking up the unit, I’ve found it is best to place your hands on the left and right side of the shell, your thumbs underneath the lip that runs across the bottom of the display and pi sidecar, with the rest of your fingers on the back. Makes for a sturdy hold during transportation from desk to couch!

Hope you enjoy the HALWOP!
