Headphone Wall Mount

Headphone Wall Mount

I wanted a nice looking but functional wall mount headphone hook for my various headphones and the associated cable.

I have some headphones with relatively narrow headbands (Focal are about 45mm wide) and others like my Meze 99 are nearly 70mm. I also needed something that could deal with the weight of my Audeze LCD-2C’s.

This is designed to mount easily to a wall using 3M Command Strips (two of size Medium or Large).

Notes:
Most printers will require supports for the top part and no supports for the bottom. You’ll want to print the bottom part upside down. I provide multiple sizes of the mount – indicated as the width of slot for the headphone headband from 40mm to 70mm wide.

Mounting

You’ll want two 3M Command Strips (Medium or Large). The bottom base is long enough for the Large and you should orient the tabs up to make it easy to remove from the wall should you desire in the future. After mounting the base to the wall, you’ll need a M3 5mm wide / 4-6mm deep heat insert. This goes in the hole in the bottom of the top. Then use a M3x12mm bolt to mount the top and bottom pieces. You could of course rely on the friction fit to keep the pieces together, but I didn’t want to rely on that with $600 headphones. I don’t recommend gluing the two parts together as that may make it harder to access the release tabs in the future. YMMV.
