Monitor camera mount – Tripod screw

Monitor camera mount - Tripod screw

This is a design to mount a camera which uses a standard 1/4-20 UNC thread mount onto a PC monitor (approx 60mm in depth). The mount hooks over the front bezel of the monitor and hangs off the back.

The mount pivots forwards and backwards on a joint using two M4x40 bolts. This is tightened into place using two M4 nuts (ideally nylock nuts) captured in large hand tightening knobs.

This design also requires a standard 1/4-20 tripod screw e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Smallrig-Threaded-Tripod-Monopod-Release/dp/B00R7AWP04 which also acts to pose the camera to the left and right.

This was originally designed to mount a SUB2r camera and a special top piece ‘CMM Top SUB2r’ is included for this particular camera (it has a large hole in the base for the fan).

You will need to print: 1x ‘Base’, 1x ‘Top’ or ‘Top SUB2r’ and 2x ‘Knob’. All parts are intended to be printed in their default orientation and the ‘base’ part requires some support material.

I have also included STEP files of the components and the original Fusion 360 file so you can alter it for your own needs if you wish.

I have not yet printed this design as it was designed for someone else. Let me know if you need any slight changes and I’ll try to help as soon as I can.
