I wanted to design something simple, clean and easy that still has some style.
The ‘body’ piece does need printed with supports. I have found that tree supports come off easier but take a little longer to print. With the curves I recommend a layer height .2mm or less.
The base piece is designed so that it can be printed in a contrasting color and simply put together or, materials up to 3mm thick can be adhered to the flat part of the base piece. In the pictures I used leather, because that’s what I do and what I have. Cork and fabric would also work well. Use an appropriate glue or double sided tape to stick the material to the flat part, trim flush and press fit into place. I like to run a line of super glue around the seam on the underside, but the pieces probably would have been fine just pressed together.
I imagine they would scale well enough to a certain degree, but too much and the proportions will start to look weird, at least in my opinion, but, if you like it, you do you.
