This is a coat hanger in the shape of an orc skull, which can be mounted to the wall. I made it for my kids after building a new coat rack. It is based on RavenCrowe Minis’ “FREE Orc Skull”.
Printing
For maximum strength, print it laying on the back. Increase the infill density for the forehead and the horn (see the modifier mesh in the .3mf file).
You will need supports for the tusks, the lower jaw, and some parts of the teeth. The .3mf file also includes some supports inside the mouth, which can be removed from the side with needle nose pliers. I used the special “Support for PLA” from Bambu Lab for the dense interface layers. The results are great, but the prime tower was a bit messy.
You can also print it sitting on the diagonal beam below the jaw to reduce supports a bit. But then the layer lines will not be in line with the tusks, so they might break off easier.
Mounting
You need two countersink wood screws (4 mm shaft, 8 mm head). Screw them into the mounting plate exactly 50 mm apart, on a vertical line. You can use the Screw_Test_Fit.stl to see if your srews fit, and the Coat_Hanger_Screw_Hole_Template.stl to mark the screw locations.
Leave the screw heads sticking out a bit (see photo). Then put the coat hanger on the screw heads, and try to slide it downward. It should go down with a bit of force, so that it sits snugly to the wall. If it is too lose, screw the screws in further. If it does not slide down, screw them back out a bit. Repeat until you are satisfied.
