
We bought a 3D printer (yay!), and printed out the Cali Cat as a first test. Then, as we have been planning to create a chess set, we decided to just use the Cali Cat as our first piece – the castle, so that the testing piece can be included in our first project: the Chess Cats!
So I spent about 2 days designing and modeling the other pieces. The idea was that they should have very distinctive characteristics that correspond to the classical chess pieces, so that you don’t need to waste time figuring out which is which when you’re playing a game with them. Also, they have to be cute and purrfect!
I am very proud of the results! Hope you’ll like them too!

I guess you could add supports if you’re worried about the cross on the King’s crown or the Knight’s chin (with overhangs <2mm), but we didn't use supports and the results look satisfying enough. Credits:
