Purple Worm – FDM Optimized

Purple Worm - FDM Optimized

I love the Purple Worm design by Schlossbauer but was having a tough time printing the head at an orientation that would give me the detail I wanted without issues. I decided to split up part 3 into two pieces to make it easier to print.

I split the face from the neck at a natural seam point in the design and then added a square peg and hole to help with assembly after printing. It still requires glue to hold together, but I was able to easily print the separate pieces and get great quality for the face!

I recommend printing the face so its pointing straight up with the peg flat on the bed. This ensures teeth are printed without issues. For the neck pieces, print them hole side down so the ledges and horns(?) are pointing up to reduce support needs. Base can be printed flat.
