Spell Effect Chill Shield or Flame Shield

This is a Spell Effect Fire or Chill Shield

I removed the small portion of the the ring of fire, duplicated what was left, rotated the second 180 degrees, aligned and joined them within Meshmixer. I did a quick removal of the seams, touched up a few of the flatter portions of the exterior flames, sized, hollowed the center to fit a standard figure base at 25mm, and printed to create the chill version.

My printer is an Ender 3 with a 0.4 nozzle diameter. I started with the LH profile (Luke Hatfield). I then set infill to 0%, initial layer to 106%, print speed to 40mm/s, temperatures to 225C for all nozzle temps and 55C for all bed temps. I put blue tape as well on the heated glass just to be sure I didn’t lose adhesion.

I had some stringing which I heated with a shrink tube heater. This kind of makes the edges look like there are some crystals in the blue flame. It’s OK, not great. String and melt to your desired level.

The PLA: 3D Solutech See Through Aqua Blue 3D Printer PLA Filament 1.75MM Filament, Dimensional Accuracy +/- 0.03 mm, 2.2 LBS (1.0KG).

Nothing was done after printing. We’ll print a second version and paint it in real flames as well.
