Stackable Container for Game Pieces / Small Parts

Stackable Container for Game Pieces 3d model

Stackable Container for Game Pieces2 3d model

A small, elegant container for organising board game pieces or other small parts during use. Designed to be quick to print and compactly stackable. I recommend printing containers in several colours so that each player or each type of piece can have it’s own colour.

Print Settings
0.2 mm layers with a 0.4mm nozzle recommended. Should also print well with an 0.6mm nozzle. Supports are not required. Go for maximum speed, there’s nothing difficult to print here.
Why this design?

I wanted some small containers for organising board game pieces during play. My main goals for this were to be quick to print, nicely stackable, and not too flimsy. I’ve found vase-mode containers to be a little too fragile, and other designs were often quite slow to print, or included features like the ability to connect containers that compromised stackability. Hexagons of course, because they are the bestagons. I chose 1.2 mm thick walls (i.e. 3 walls for a 0.4 mm nozzle) as that provides good strength while still allowing fast printing. The draft (taper) angle of 15° means the containers stack well, each additional one adding only 4mm of extra height.
These aren’t really designed for long term storage of pieces/parts, though I do have a Gridfinity-style base grid I may upload.
