Ruger Standard .22lr

Ruger Standard .22lr

This is a blowback action handgun that is intentionally very similar in both appearance and action to the Japanese WW2 Nambu pistols. Bill Ruger designed this handgun in his garage and got the necessary capital from Alex Sturm to put the handgun into production in 1949. The two teamed up and founded Sturm, Ruger & Co, which would go on to become an iconic American firearms company. This was the first product they put into the market. The gun is intended for sport shooting and is chambered in .22lr and holds either 9 or 10 rounds in a single stack magazine.
